Oral health is extremely important for a child’s physical and mental development. During each checkup, our pediatric dental specialist will not only look for dental caries, but will also evaluate each child’s oral hygiene, craniofacial and dental development, at the same time working with parents to cultivate good oral habits. We believe in constructive communication and positive reinforcement, and we are dedicated to facilitate a pleasant experience for your child's every visit.

Early Treatment

     MRC Myobrace® System

Anchor 1

Poor oral habits like finger sucking or incorrect breathing and swallowing pattern may have adverse effects on teeth alignment and facial profile. More often if caught earlier on, we can take advantage of a child’s growing potential to avert this negative pattern.

The Myobrace® System is preventive pre-orthodontic treatment that unlocks obstacles from natural growth and development by correcting poor oral habits like mouth breathing or finger sucking, and to help training for correct breathing and swallowing patterns.

By focusing on correcting oral habits, the child will have the best possible chance to grow their jaws to their proper and full size, which allows the teeth to come in straight and often eliminates the need for braces later on.

Proper oral and breathing habits are greatly beneficial with growing child’s arch development, facial profile and teeth alignment.

     Invisalign® teen / Mandibular Advancement

Teenagers with small chin may also exhibit flared out anterior teeth, deep bite,  incompetent lips, dysphonia and lip biting. If deep bite is not resolved earlier on, it could negatively influence facial profile, occlusion, even airway development. Traditionally we manage this condition with functional appliances, but now there is Invisalign Mandibular Advancement (MA). The build in precision wings gradually move the lower jaw forward and align crooked teeth at the same time, which is more efficient compares to the two stage approach with traditional appliances, a great fit for teenagers' busy lifestyle nowadays, not to mention it is comparably much more comfortable to wear. Children of age 6-10 with small chin is recommended to consult with our pediatric dental specialist for early treatment to decrease the chances of complex surgery during adulthood.

Space Maintainer

Space maintainers are necessary when a primary molar or more were lost prematurely. If left unmanaged the adjacent teeth will drift into this space thus block the adult tooth underneath from erupting. Space maintainers preserve and maintain space needed for the permanent tooth underneath awaiting to come out. There are many types of space maintainers, our pediatric dental specialist will help choosing the most appropriate solution to chaperone safe passage of adult tooth.

Stainless Steel Crown

When a baby molar is damaged to a certain extend, stainless steel crown is an excellent solution to protect the tooth from fracturing prematurely. Deciduous molars usually don’t exfoliate till age of 9 or 10, and they are the best natural retainer before the succeeding permanent tooth erupts. Therefore if a baby molar needed to be root canal treated before its exfoliating age, we will almost always recommend a stainless steel crown to prolong its service life, and to restore chewing function as well.

Sealant Treatment

Dental sealant is a thin resin coating that fills in deep pits and fissures of molars’ chewing side, creating a smooth surface to prevent food entrapment. This coating makes daily cleaning easier for your child and lower chances of tooth decay.
