First Visit：
For all of our new patients, Welcome! Our initial comprehensive exam includes: full mouth radiographic exam, oral facial soft tissue exam, jaw joint exam, occlusion analysis, caries detection, oral health assessment and consultation...etc. Leave no stone unturned!
Smaller bitewing and periapical x-ray film are super critical for interproximal caries detection. Most toothache often started from interproximal surfaces since they are hidden from sight and requires films like these to reveal their existence. We take it very seriously to catch those cavities earlier on to avoid a root canal treatment, which is all part of our examination. We would also like to remind all of our patients to remove all caries before more complex treatment like orthodontic treatment or implant placement to prevent toothache later on.
Oral Facial Pain Management：
Nobody likes pain, especially around oral facial area, sometimes what seem like a toothache may originate from somewhere else due to complex nerve distribution around head and neck region. Therefore it is absolutely imperative to diagnose the source of pain correctly.
At HYDC, all of us take pain cases very seriously by practicing evidence based dentistry as we taught our students to avoid misdiagnosis, or worse, delayed treatment which could sometimes lead to infection or even neurological issues. Periodic Oral Exam：
One thing your car and teeth have in common is that they both require periodic upkeeps. The CDC and ADA recommend getting regular dental checkup at least every 3 to 6 months, and children before age of 6 are recommend to have fluoride application twice a year during those visits.
